I live and breathe the theatre, seeing upwards of 150 shows each year. On any given night, you can probably find me sitting on the aisle of a theatre, somewhere in Toronto.
My interest in theatre criticism was sparked when I participated in a week-long program for young critics at the Toronto Fringe Festival. In 2019, I was selected to join the National Ballet of Canada’s Emerging Arts Critics Programme, which pairs emerging critics with professional mentors and arts publications from across the country. The year-long program, led by preeminent Canadian critics such as Robert Cushman and John Coulbourn, helped me gain the academic and practical knowledge needed to write more authoritatively about the performing arts. Shortly afterwards, I started my (now defunct) blog Ghost Light Reviews and became a contributing critic for various arts publications in Toronto.
When I’m not at the theatre or in a newsroom, I enjoy cheering on Toronto’s sports teams, playing the violin and playwriting.
